Describing the development as a “significant milestone,” the Ministry emphasized its impact on ensuring a stable and sustainable energy supply for Ghana. Officials say the increased capacity will enhance the reliability of the power sector and serve as a catalyst for broader economic growth.
In a statement released Monday, the Ministry extended its appreciation to ENI and various partners within the power sector for their collaboration and technical execution of the upgrade.
“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” the statement read.
Public cooperation during the project’s implementation phase was also recognized. The Ministry thanked citizens for their patience, underscoring the importance of continued public engagement in Ghana’s energy transformation.
Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head of Communication for the Ministry, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering consistent and improved power supply across the country.
“We remain focused on building a resilient and modern energy sector that meets the needs of all Ghanaians,” Rockson said.
The gas infrastructure upgrade marks a strategic step forward in Ghana’s journey toward energy security, sustainability, and economic empowerment.
